Here’s purple kohlrabi growing in my garden last year. It’s magenta and quite stunning in the garden. I may actually like it more as an ornamental than a vegetable but I plan to try other ways to use it this year.
The seedlings aren’t much to look at yet. I just planted one row and they’re only about an inch tall so I’ll show you the seed packet. Last year I grew them from transplants.
Sauteed Kale with Kohlrabi from Epicurious was my favorite way to use the kohlrabi. Yes, those are pistachios but you can’t see the lime zest, juice, olive oil and garlic that combined to make this incredible winter vegetable dish.
