Happy New Year

January 1, 2012

Before you put your Christmas lights away, consider decorating your citrus tree if a frost is expected. This is more festive than draping with an old sheet as I did with my potted Bearss lime tree several times in December.

The Star Apple Edible Gardens blog suggests wrapping the lights around the trunk of the tree then covering with a frost blanket or burlap. When temperatures are predicted to dip below freezing, just plug in the lights.
