Still Life with Lemon Grass and Lucy

August 19, 2011

Blades of Glory, an article on the virtues of lemon grass reminded me why I like to grow this grassy herb. It looks nice in the garden and is handy for Asian recipes. When I moved the plant to the patio to photograph, Lucy settled in and I had a “still life.”

Long ago, my lemon grass plant was in the ground and overtook nearby herbs. I recall it was pushing six feet by three feet. Vanquished to a pot, it behaves in part sun with occasional water. Appears to be ready to move to a larger container though.
