Spring is for ordering seeds and planting them with a wish.

Planting peas

In eastern Massachusetts, today, St. Patrick’s Day, is the time to plant peas. It’s even Saturday with a high of 55 degrees, under partly cloudy skies in Ipswich. Sounds perfect to me. Temperatures will warm to 70 degrees Sunday through Wednesday if you’re busy today. Also perfect to nudge pea seeds along toward germination.

Read my fall blog entry on planting garden peas and sweet peas. Renee’s Garden also has helpful instruction for planting peas.

Though it’s too late in warm winter climates to start sweet peas, those with chilly winters can plant them now. Read my post A Good Time to Plant Sweet Peas from last October.

Ever the bi-coastal gardener. Thinking of my gardening friends in New England.
