Pansy season is drawing to a close here is southern California as the weather warms. Where winters are cold, the time may be nearing to set out pansies in the garden.
I picked the last of the pansies recently and found ways to enjoy the stragglers. Just a few floating in a glass bowl added a delicate fragrance to a corner of my kitchen.
Who knew? I’ve spent too much time viewing pansies at my feet and not drinking in their full wonder up close.
Here, I arranged pansies between two glass plates before adding the three-olive bread.
In the garden, little violas snug up to some newly planted kale. Johnny-jump-ups scattered between the glass plates are also nice. Hope they persist until Easter.
