Keeping Crops Cool During Hot Weather

It’s mid-July and in most regions of the country temperatures may reach summer highs this month. Protecting your garden during a heat wave may allow it to produce into the fall.

In May, we had two stretches of temps in the mid-90’s. This article from Mother Earth News would have been helpful.

Learn about keeping crops cool during hot weather. Some plants stop flowering and setting fruit when temperatures soar. To keep them cool, use old screens, lattice and sheets to shade vulnerable mature plants from the effects of mid-summer sun.
