Burgundy and orange in the garden this week.
Red lettuce leaves harvested last week. Their color seems to intensify with the cool nights. And also a few of the strawberry guavas, about an inch or more in diameter represent several pounds gathered recently.
I’m picking a handful of Satsuma tangerines each week to spread the enjoyment of a small crop. Navel oranges are plentiful and deliciously sweet now.
A guava-blueberry-kefir smoothie. Blossoms on my blueberry bush but no blueberries.
A volunteer calendula and I’m thinking about the petals for a salad at lunch today.
And with only a handful of blooms in the garden this week, I settled for a foliage bouquet: Vitex purpurea, dusty miller and rue.
