It’s finally feeling like summer in the summer garden. I picked the first eggplant and there are more to come.
The cucumbers growing on the trellis are yielding about one daily. They’re about ten inches long and delightfully crisp.
The bush (purple) and pole beans continue to produce very well. I’m picking this amount almost every day. Friends and family are happy for the productivity.
I like my beans thin and small. When I miss a day of picking or some beans get too large
Lucy helps out and eats them with enthusiasm.
There are chocolate cosmos next to the purple beans and eggplant (with some nice color harmonies going on). They’re a favorite of my son’s fiancee and I’m growing them for the reception bouquets. And yes, they do have a chocolate fragrance.
