Blackberries--Free-standing and Thornless
19 February 2011
Apache Blackberries
Blackberries spell summer for many of us. Gathering wild berries on a hike, stopping by a roadside stand or U-pick may be familiar memories. In my garden, marionberry season is a two month edible feast. No jam to be made of these. Rather, they come to the table daily; better yet to eat right from the garden, warm and soft from summer’s sun. For readers from cold climates, hardy to zone 5 (-20 degrees F).
Read about free-standing and thornless blackberries in today’s Home + Garden article in the San Diego Union Tribune.
