Easy DIY: Turn a Fence Into a Trellis

Easy DIY: Turn a Fence Into a Trellis

Made of items from the hardware store, this version from Sunset.com supports pole beans, morning glory, and vigorous hop vines that would otherwise ramble.

1. Mount four 5-in. square wood blocks, one for each corner, to a strong fence using wood screws.
2. Attach a loop hook to each wood block.
3. Hang each corner of a sheet of welded remesh (typically used for reinforcing concrete and sold in 3 1/2- by 7-ft. sheets) over a loop hook. Example sold at Home Depot.
