In My Garden, Early November November 9, 2023 Sue Martin Planting of the fall-winter garden is nearly complete. Only arugula and bits of lettuce to harvest for now. Premium Crop and Jacaranda broccoli Bi-color sweet peas climb to the trellis. Thinned beets still under the protection of the screen. Golden Sweet Snow Peas just emerged. White and purple cauliflower under row cover to protect from cabbage moths. Romanesco growing in a side bed. Carrots covered with row cover to minimize damage from carrot root fly. Seascape strawberries growing in the vegetable bed this year. Salads soon from Buttercrunch lettuce. Though I removed half the Queen Red Lime zinnias in order to plant lettuce, the bounty of blooms was heartening. Most of the garden back under cover until the cabbage moths disappear with cooler nights.
