In My Garden, Early December

The first blossom on the ‘Golden Sweet Yellow Snow Pea,’ which I’ve grown from saved seed for 25 years.

Lettuces: Marvel of Four Seasons, Sea of Red, Rogue d’Hiver.

Lettuces: Monet’s Garden Mesclun (Renee’s Garden) and Dark Red Lollo Rossa

Bi-color sweet peas, arugula and Tuscan kale.

Various lettuces, Tuscan kale, arugula and sweet peas.

Two kinds of beets and Tango celery.

Nantes and purple carrots and Easter Egg II radishes.

Herbs, onions, radishes, carrots, spinach, beets and celery.

Dark Red Lollo Rossa lettuce and Classic Magic Cornflowers (Johnny’s) in the broccoli bed.

Cornflowers, lettuce, bunching onions and broccoli.

Graffiti cauliflower beginning to show color.

The cauliflower bed: six each of Graffiti, Amazing and Romanesco, intensively planted.

Baby leaf kale and more Lollo Rossa lettuce.

Navel oranges and Satsuma tangerines—sweeter and more color with nights in the 40’s.

The patio kumquat tree is laden with fruit which will ripen later this winter.

Three Rozanne geraniums under the tangerine tree near the garden add color and attract bees.
