Lavender Musings

Lavender Musings

The lavender bushes in my garden are blooming now. Working in the garden in the cool of the day today I marveled at the fragrance and the bees. That prompted me to explore the thoughts of others about this elegant, useful garden plant.

As rosemary is to the spirit, so lavender is to the soul. Unknown.
Abundance is the sharp smell of lavender on a beautiful spring morning. Unknown
Your voice calmed me like petals of lavender. Indranil Kumar.
Her love was like lavender, delicate and melancholy. Laura Chouette.

The air smelled of freshly clipped lavender, the scent wafting across the morning in a purple haze. Of course, it wasn’t actually lavender Wren was smelling—it was magic. Adrienne Tooley

The air was fragrant with a thousand trodden aromatic herbs, with fields of lavender, and with the brightest roses blessing in tufts all over the meadows. William C. Bryant

it always seems to me as if the lavender was a little woman in a green dress, with a lavender bonnet and a white kerchief. She's one of those strong, sweet, wholesome people, who always rest you, and her sweetness lingers long after she goes away. Myrtle Reed

If you have organic lavender blooms you might like to try Lavender Shortbread Cookies, Lavender Lemonade or Apricot Lavender Shrub—other ways I use my lavender.
